12 Midland Valley students earn degrees from Aiken Technical College
The 12, who were among 400 students approved for graduation, were the first county students to graduate from the Early College program, a collaboration between the school district, high school and college with support from several community business partners.
“It’s a momentous occasion, but the true victors tonight are the kids and their families, so we’re here in support of them,” said Aiken County Public School District Superintendent Sean Alford. “We had faith in them from Day 1, we knew they could do it, so tonight they get to achieve those dreams.”
The students enrolled in the program the summer before their sophomore year in high school and began taking college-level courses toward an Associate in Arts and/or Associate in Science degree.
