Col. Carlene A.S Blanding assumed command of Eisenhower Army Medical Center from Col. David E. Ristedt in a traditional Army change of command ceremony Tuesday on Barton Field.

Blanding is taking command following an assignment as chief, Medical Service Corps Branch at the U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky.

In her brief remarks to those in attendance, Blanding said,“These are times of unprecedented changes in both the Army and Army Medicine, and it is in these times the strength, commitment and dedication of a team is realized and the foundation of a storied organization such as EAMC is solidified. There is no doubt in my mind that Eisenhower Army Medical Center lives up to its motto as ‘Home of 5-Star Healthcare.’
