Fort Gordon Commanding General talks coming improvements, growth
U.S. Cyber Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon Commanding General stressed importance of industry, collaboration to cyber command
The growth of cyber in Augusta is bringing significant changes to Fort Gordon.
In a TechNet panel Wednesday, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon Commanding General, Maj. Gen. John Morrison, Jr., said four buildings on the base are awaiting demolition or renovation, and the Signal School headquarters will change buildings.
These changes precede Army Cyber Command’s official move to Augusta in about two years. While the building that will house Army Cyber Command will likely be completed by January, the mission to bring experienced cyber professionals to Augusta will probably take much longer.
“What we’re working through now is advertising everything that’s available here in the CSRA so we get the maximum number of folks moving south that we possibly can,” Morrison said.
