ARCYBER welcomes Senior Executive to lead technical innovation

By Bill Roche

The U.S. Army Cyber Command commander swore in the headquarters’ newest member of the Senior Executive Service during a ceremony Monday.

David T. Kim had been named the director of the Technical Warfare Center and Chief Technology Officer for ARCYBER.

“He’s a visionary that says ‘why not,’” said Lt. Gen. Paul Nakasone, ARCYBER commander, during the swearing in ceremony.

The TWC is a newly-launched office within ARCYBER designed to accelerate innovation, build partnerships with industry, and develop new cyberspace capabilities for increased battlefield employment.

The TWC team will drive a range of efforts to strengthen the Army with the most advanced cyberspace technologies. They partner across operational, industry, and institutional partners to empower the Army to better conduct cyberspace operations at all echelons, and meet both Joint and Army current and future global operational needs. Additionally, the team advises the ARCYBER commander on all aspects of science and technology, and research and engineering matters, while providing technical oversight and staff guidance.

Kim retired from the U.S. Army after serving 29 years in various positions across the intelligence community. He holds degrees from Arizona State University, the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, Central Michigan University and the Army’s Command and General Staff College.
