TechNet key in ‘developing force of the future’

The Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA) hosted its 7th annual TechNet Augusta featuring the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence and Fort Gordon.

More than 4,500 people registered this year, setting an all-time high for the event, which was held Aug. 19-23 at the Augusta Marriott Convention Center.

TechNet Augusta is a conference designed to foster communication and facilitate networking, education and problem solving among government, industry and academia professionals on national security matters with a focus on cyber.

This year’s theme was, “Combined Arms Maneuver in Cyberspace: Building the Multi-Domain Force.”

During the conference’s opening remarks, retired Marine Lt. Gen. Robert M. Shea told a room packed with hundreds of people that he could not think of a more challenging time in the nation’s defense than the present.

“It is critical that we all come together to work and develop solutions that will carry us forward in this challenging environment that we’re in,” Shea said.
